My first poem about Hurricane Katrina, so bear with me if it's bad.
The levee began to break
And water began to flow out
Rain poured down many towns
And thunder striked the ground

Windows began to break
Water began to flood thousands of homes
People were screaming and crying
‘Cause there was no way out

People ran upstairs to seek shelter as the water raised
But that is not enough
The filthy water went through doors and windows
And drowned everyone inside

Days had passed
And the damage was done
Thousands of people homeless
And hundreds dead

Only a few were rescued from roofs
And many were left for dead
Hurricane Katrina had finished her rage
In New Orleans, Louisiana.
