A poem about being single and waiting for that one true love
Unrequited Love by Maya Gracie

Although I am 43 and single, I may be single for the rest of my life

I believe in love for those who have found it, and for I have been in love

many times.  Do I really understand what love is between two people or am I in love with

the idea of being in love?  Through the experiences I have had with being in love, unrequited love

always prevails.  Perhaps one day I will be among the lucky who will find love that will always remain.

Until that day, undaunted by the fact that I am still single, until that one true love chooses to reciprocate my feelings,

I will wait until that day and hope his love will always remain.
