A poem about my first day of life
I imagine myself born as perfect as a lily,
Small and wrinkly,
pink and soft like a new doll.

Wrapped in new, wet skin,
soft like the petals of a rose.

Eyes half closed,
tired and unsure of the bright light that surrounds me.

My lips smacking and anticipating my first taste of hunger.

Legs and arms kicking the air
As I discover I can make the loudest noise known to man!--
I cry!!!!!!

All of the sudden a warmth consumes me...to comfort me.
I recognize the scent...I am being held by my mother.
Now ALL is perfect in my world!!!!!
