Written by my grandfather when he was just a young lad teaching in a one room schoolhouse.
                   "Traveler"

As we go on down the road
We meet a friend with a heavy load
We stop to offer a helping hand
To him who has traveled through out the land
Our load too is hard to bear;
But we carry on through many a year
Some might falter, some might stop
But do your best to stay on top

As days grow longer
And our lives more somber
We meet together to say hello
Then travel on with the other fellow
The day will come when we'll meet no more
In this world, down here below
So let us live, that we might rise
To meet our friends up in the skies

So here today we meet again
And say hello with a merry grin
Then travel on as we depart
Down the road with a loving heart
