She listened for too long.
Quittin’ Time

She was always open
and understanding,
now she relates to
every word with her own mind,
every violation with her own body.
She tries to forget
but losing herself in dance
has just pulled her in deeper
to their worst moments,
there is no escape
even now she’s quit
and sought out her own therapist.
