A story of personality transition
Quiet Down

There was a time when I spoke
And you remained silent
When I insisted
You became violent
You were driven by your mood
Back then it was stale
It crushed my feelings
Like a heavy gale
I looked up to you
And you turned me down
Each time you neglected
I would drown
When a dress in the market
Made me say 'Wow!'
You glared hard at me
And said 'Not now.'
I had little wishes
Only you could fulfil
But you were most indifferent
Reason enough to kill
Now we're in a bank
And you're posing sweet
Talking to me like
Giving a long awaited treat
But my senses are numb
Your voice fades by
Can't figure out a word you say
Like you ignored my cry
You ask me 'what's wrong'?
'I'm talking to you."
I ask if you remember
When I had such feelings too
There was a time when I spoke
And you remained silent
When I insisted
You became violent
And now you complain
I don't give two hoots
Since I cannot be violent
I have learned to be silent.
