Distance separates two lovers who long to be together before it is too late.

I have seen her, though my eyes still long to see her near.
I have felt her, though her touch eludes my face thus far.
She has said much, though no word has reached my yearning ear.
Her passion hot, remotely sensed, shines like the brightest star.

Her smile, is imprinted in my dreams each night so clearly.
Her eyes, probe mine though they are so far from sight.
My mind, with thoughts of her it never will grow weary.
And yet I lie, silently unsatisfied each long and lonely night.

The distance, so extreme, shall never extinguish our flame,
But time, every growing, haunts my fears most intensely.
Though desire, will never cool, and the distance remains the same,
'Tis time, so grim, with all the means to impede our love completely.

I send my wish across the miles to she who holds my heart.
I implore the fates to bring in touch two souls so far apart.
I await the day I sense her soft caress upon my face.
And pray it's not in death 'til I can feel her warm embrace.
