An Antagonist is taken back when he finds a childhood toy. Is it the reason he's so evil?
I’m almost done my clever scheme
Years of hard work to reach my dream.
The push of a button, pull of a lever
The time has come for this perfect endeavor.
I take a step back and look where I’ve come
They won’t believe what lil’ ol’ me has done.
I start to prepare for the very big day
When I successfully take time away!
Before I make my oh so very life changing action
There’s a flash of color behind my evil contraption.
The item was hidden in a tiny nook
So naturally I go to take a look.
I reach to pull the item out
Let out a gasp without a doubt!
In my hand I hold a sole toy
That could make me smile as a boy.
The toy consists of a clock
With a small mouse on the dock.
I feel behind to turn on its power
Then set it down on my evil tower.
“HIckory Dickory Dock”
“The mouse ran up the clock”
My eyes were so fascinated
As the mouse quickly ascended.
Up and up the little mouse goes
And somehow I forget my woes.
“The clock struck one”
“The mouse ran down”
“Hickory Dickory Dock”
The small mouse ends up back where it started
And to my memories I departed.
I’m back to the party of my fifth birthday
“Here! Open all your presents!” all of them say.
I dig in, opening present after present
Unfortunately, there’s not one I don’t resent!
In all that time, I’m not having fun
But I finally reach the last one.
I have no idea what’s in store
Just hoping it won’t be a bore.
Inside is a colorful clock toy just made for fun
With which I will spend hours playing under the sun!
No one understood why I gave it such care
So they all leave me with a judgemental stare...
“Time is money!” they would all sing
Yet I spent hours with the thing!
Fast forward forty years
And the toy is still here!
It wasted all of my time
In turn, I lost every dime.
Time and tragedy forced me to grow old
But the toy gave me a good grudge to hold.
In my throat, there starts to form a lump
NO! My emotions won’t screw me up!
I put the toy on a shelf like a prize
Only part of my past I won’t despise.
I turn my head back toward my invention
Once it’s started, I’ll get all the attention!
The preparations are set, I literally see
The last few moments when time no longer corrupts me!
