Armageddon Spirits

A baby’s cry floats on the wind
Angels weep because man has sinned
Bullets burst the air all around
Blood and flesh seep into the ground
Arch demons squeal with rich delight
Satan summons the feral night

Explosions flare against the black
Airplanes dodge the ascending flak
Soldiers scurry into their holes
Bayonets hung on deadly poles
Fighters stand ready for the barge
Captains issue the final charge

The sun rises behind an ochre sky
Armageddon spirits marched on by
As dust blows over a shattered land
Goodness lost its final stand
Mankind exhaled their final breath
As all the Earth was put to death
