Love Poem
Foolish heart you have tricked me again
Falling fast and hard, I hit the floor with a bang
You are a terrible foe, my most beguiling friend
I should not have opened the door when you rang

You whispered sweet nothings in my ear
Promised his love was mine to keep
Then crippled me with fear
Stinging my eyes as I sob and weep

You cannot be trusted to do me right
Lies slip across your tongue
Singing sweet love songs in the brilliant light
As if I could keep him for my own

How could you say those things and lead me astray?
"He is here forever, his love is true"
You shout in my ears night and day
Pure madness it was to listen to you

You scream "It's your fault, you pushed him away"
Your taunting won't let me forget he is gone
Foolish heart I will never listen to you again
You always steer me wrong.
