Down I'll go, Into the deepest darkness I can bring into view. My choice, My way.

By the river
Dare
I shiver
Around
This neck
A rope
Heck
Representing hope
At the other end
Fate
Addressed
As a stone
Sinking down
Having
No control
Bypassing
Said role
I’m ready
Soon I’ll go
Way down
There
Into the depths
Of this river
Into the swirling
Contentness
Never again
Will I be afraid
Because
I’ll be dead
Deceased
Reduced to meat
Waterlogged
Putrid
Further diseased
Little
Will have changed
When everything is gone
And nothing is yours
There is no reason to share
No other wants it as bad
None wish such release
None but me
I’m ready
All the slack
Is quickly extending
The stone
Will soon be reaching
Deeper than before
Deeper
Than forevermore
My neck won’t snap
No such intention
Instant satisfaction
Not part of the plan
Death will come
Via asphyxiation
It will take time
A lifetime I’m sure
Drowning extended
Again and again
Of such a punishment
I’m quite deserving
Deeper still
Way down
Into the circling streams
Of the currents beneath
There
In the blackness
I’ll keep
Never will I escape
The only choice
Of my troubling ways
By the river
Dare
I shiver
Around
This neck
A rope
Heck
Representing hope
At the other end
Fate
Addressed
As a stone
Sinking further down
When everything is gone
There is nothing more
No suffering
No concerns
Nothing of doubt
Nothing of true life
Just absolute blackness
Just certain escape
Just relief
Down
In the deepest of depths
Around my neck
My choices will be kept
I tied the rope
And threw the stone
Knowing all along
The length was short
And the deepness was great
Far beyond
Anything survivable
Way past
Anything retrievable
When everything is gone
Nothing will be ours alone…
