Though some will disagree, this is one of the many outlooks on the human race.
Have you heard about the human race
About our love and our life
We have hope when there is none left
We keep on fighting
We don’t back down and we won’t give up

But those are only stories
Those are just stories to give hope, give love and life
These ideas that are supposed to help make it easier
They are just a fantasy

You heard about our strength
The kind that is expected to move mountains
Well
You never looked farther than that
You never saw how our mountains crush us every time
How we fall and trip until we no longer know how to walk
But crawl instead

It’s time for a reality check
Humanity does not bring hope
It brings judgement and cold hearts
It hears but doesn’t listen
It falls and cries
But when others fall
All they hear around them is laughter

This is not how it was supposed to be
And yet
It’s all any of us have ever known
Do not expect much from humanity
After all
We will never be more than the products of this beautiful world’s demise
