Exactly that! I had a bad dream and . . . .there you have it!
It slithers silently away
As I stand staring at the bleeding puncture
Knowing this will be my doom
My end
The end
Suddenly light headed, I stagger
Grabbing for anything to steady me
I reach out and fail
And fall
I feel tears on my face as I wince from the pain
It courses through me at lightening speed
With every heart beat
I die a little more
What once was my life source
Is now my death
Each beat brings me closer
To The end
My end
I see the wound swell
And the sick poison seeps out
Like a heart beat all it’s own
Pulsing and throbbing
The bloody toxin pools around me
Doom
The end
My end
Darkness
Then . . . .
Nothing.
And I wake,
Sweaty and shivering in the cold night air
Gripping my arm
Where there is no wound
No bite
Feeling my racing heart
And realizing it isn’t pumping poison
Just a dream
Breathe. . . . .
Just a dream
Awake now
I am it’s doom
Awake
I am it’s end
The end
