A little something a little dark...
Into the end

As I stand atop this precipice, lonesome and cold
Unto the remorseless darkness I stare
Both near and far, there and yet not, it gazes back
feeling it's intensity, it's tendrils of icy evil
Am I stood upon the life's end, it's final edge
Or have I already crossed into a place of many cliffs and depths

A heart thunders in mortal chest, illusions of wanted life
But breath does not come, held so as to see no air
No wind projected from cold blue lips
Death it seems claims all with the assassins stealth
Arms raise sideways, an attempt to welcome him
To embrace or perhaps throttle.
Choke and tear, reciprocation of pain already felt

Strange that no memory of times past appear
Unfound within hollow echoing chambers of mind
Without past or present, no sense of self
Identity gone, without loss if not wanted
Broken dreams, shattered, twisted and wasted
Embrace the unknown, the gentle calling dark

Stare again into the abyss, down into its belly
A void never changing or ending
A limb now moving without thought
Hopeful of a stride into the embrace of simple gravity
One more step so small with consequence so large
Balanced, teetering on a ledge guarding ends

To stop it so easy, opposing desires so strong
'Let it be' the voice says, a voice Well known
‘All will be as it should’ comes the pearly whisper
A single caress where only claws inflict agony
Scales of sense and madness seesaw in battle
To which give the victory, the spoils, the prize
Who's call does this lost intellect heed…
