Free-verse poem about an addict from the perspective of someone who loves them.
Despicable are your actions,
A ruthless crusader,
Allowing this festering blight,
You give in and give yourself over to the oblivion.
Innocent souls you touch with befouled hands,
True love is made insouciant,
Something to manipulate and hurt.
The years grow,
You age without change
As every bridge bursts into flame,
And calmly you state,
"I'm fine."
