The noise and distraction of modern life
We can notice the traffic closing in,
Yet not the sound of a bird as it sings.
Volume turned up becomes white noise.
From computer games to talking toys.

When will silence return here again,
To stop our minds from going insane.
Will we ever stop, turn it off, let go.
Free our minds, find something we don't yet know.

Look at the world with fresh, clean eyes.
Discover this place glows with azure skies.
Feel excitement at seeing a rainbow,
Against chronic storm clouds, thunder rumbling low.

Do we see our escape from the onslaught?
Of all that we've built, all that we've taught.
Take time to seek for the quiet, the peace.
Originally given to us; for a moment!

Let the noise cease
