An old flame is still a flame.
FROZEN FLAME

Why do I see in your eyes
that confused look of surprise?
Though it is now a long time,
I, too, was in my youth prime,

My breath too was warm, nay, hot.
When I sighed, I sighed a lot.
But it is different now.
My life is lifeless somehow.

Time was when in this heart my,
waves of love rose big and high.
Though my life is now burnt out,
some sparks are yet there, no doubt.

Come not nigh me, I tell you.
One day this flame may quell you.
I may be in an old frame
But, though frozen, I’m a flame.
