The sun felt so real for so long.
The line was long
and the sun was hot.
While I slowly died
you had only one thought.
A smile that beamed
with excitement and glee.
Your happiness grew
though I dreamed of something shady.
We neared the end of the wait
that for me was so long.
We neared the end of the wait
with which you saw no wrong.
It was cold when I woke
and I looked for the sun.
Then I looked for your smile
to see where it had run.
