The effects of fighting with the one you love.
How many times I tell you?
How will I overcome?
How many battle scars
from wars I've waged and won?
When I talk you don't listen.
When is there time to say?
When I'm the voice of reason
my words get in the way.
Who knows where we are going?
Who sees what things will be?
Who searches for your voice
whispering to me?
Where do we find forgiveness?
Where are we when we're done?
Where are the battle scars
from wars you've waged and won?
What questions do I answer?
What are the reasons why?
What is the sense of knowing
that hearts betray with time?
Why screams are the beginning.
Why quiet is the end.
Why do we all surrender
too tired to defend?
