Scent of the Rain

Lifted weary eyes
to storm cloud skies
no doubt, it's here
moving to the music

Play piano, my heart
Lightning then starts
Thunder descends
scent of the rain

Basset hound days
Sleeping dog lays
Bothered, she's not
rhythm starts, she snores

Rains through the night,
Can't find the light
Staccato blanket
natures dance with the sky

Won't you please take me home once again?
Home to the scent of the rain
