a cinquain
In case you're not familiar, a cinquain consists of 22 syllables, distributed in lines of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 2 syllables. This one is for a chapter heading in my novel, "Murder on Cabot's Landing. When I write these for novels, I attribute them to "The Missing Cinquains" by one Arpad Laszlo.

                   My foe:
                   Like me, willful
And smart. He lights a fire
Inside me. Does hate feed the flames,
                   or love?
                             --The Missng Cinquains
                              Arpad Laszlo
