Snapshots of my life from dreams as a teenager to reality of being a senior.
A young inquisitive teenage girl,
Romantic books, movies ruled my world.
Pretend I’m famous Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl”
Omar Sharif, cinema magic dust, my heart swirled.

“Dr. Zhivago” in frozen Russian dreams.
Forbidden love for Lara and Yuri,
sizzling sex, palace of ice, exquisite scene.
A pimply guy on a date was most likely unseen.

Real world carousal came by, as it does.
College, working, then falling in love.
Fortune was holding both newborn sons,
No gift is more preciously won.

We set our own idea of fame;
a stage, an award, a known name?
Being a healing professional is my claim.
Saving a life, help one out of pain.

Raising children to brighten our planet,
Make a difference, find their enchantment.
Hoping your directions on the highway of life,
didn’t steer them wrong, cause undue strife.

Tender happy years went by so fast,
innocence and fairy tales didn’t last.
Treasures are wrapped in hazy memories.
Faded photographs of you and me.

Wisdom is for us of a certain age.
So it is written on someone’s page.
I can not claim that wondrous trait.
Mostly I am content, not a terrible fate.
