Shopper finds out something the hard way.
The Tendero
Lines: 20

It happened in Mexico
the lesson I learned
never use a credit card
you just might get yourself burned

The shop looked very cozy
I wandered in to buy
something on display
but now I’m wondering why

The tendero took my card
ran it, then twice again
he had a faulty reader
I’m guessing that's what he said

AmEx bill’s on the table
lying right next to my jaw
my twenty-dollar handbag
cost one thousand forty-four

Lucky! Charges forgiven
but what a lesson I learned
no tomes plastic to Mexico
you just might get yourself burned
