Life from the perspective of a grain of rice made into sake (day 4 of rap challenge)
As all life begins I'm worn until my little white heart is shown
Steamed stable warmth envelopes and suddenly you've thrown at me mold
Only three days old, in my koji-water bath, meeting yeasts
Mellow 7, ginjo 9, fickle 10 our Tohoku friend
Or maybe fruity 14 and 15 looking fine but taking it slow
But this vacuum I cannot take, why'd you make it so cold
Lactic bacteria from the air feeds this yeast, I'm a kimoto feast, keeps me safe in this acidic tank
This rice mesh brings earthly rising aroma
Foams noxious gases, the yeast's siren song
Both creation and a self-collapsing destruction
Lost in this parallel fermentation, get close and your gone
okutei and wasei, who knows the seasons you've seen
Unlike you sneaky beast nakate
Koshu, the dark and ancient, like hands in dirt
Meiji taxes took him from us, changed our tongues, gave us guns,
I continue to muse 'cause you forgot me for a month!
Now you stare at me, a moromi mash
And give me a spirit before you tear out my soul
Horizontal filtration, or smash me in a bag,
Just hang my corpse up and let my life drip out through a hole
It was no course mesh, no nigori label and my lees are pure, sediment drop
No genshu in a water cleanse, suddenly cold to boiling, I'd like to blow my top!
I was alone for a year, now I'm settled and mature
My clean and transparent existence now ready to face the world
