A poem juxtaposing joy and sorrow.
I never knew how much wonder the world held,
I never knew how love could meld,
I never knew the power joy could wield,
I never knew what the road would yield,

I never knew how much loss could wound,
I never knew how much fear could take,
I never knew those I love would die,
I never knew yearning from dreams denied,

I never knew all that,
But now I do.
