He asked me to write something for and about him.
You asked me
once
to write you a
song.
You, so practical and pragmatic,
wanted musical lyricism from me. I wondered why, but
you knew
music would bring us closer, because
a melody for you would
be about us,
the blossoming romance that we
sometimes battle against. But like a great
love song, there’s no fighting the rhythm…or the
passion. Let’s succumb to our sweet ballad,
with its rich, soothing notes and we can sing
together, in harmony.
