A poem about the ocean
Onto the shore

Onto the shore the waves advance, recede
They whisper to us secrets of the sea,
And beckon or reject our human needs.

They whisper to us warnings we should heed,
About the dangers that our eyes don't see,
Onto the shore the waves advance, recede.

The advancing waves bring with them seaweed,
And other treasure from the deep blue sea,
That beckon or reject our human needs.

Receding waves take with them plastic beads,
And other forms of human debris;
Onto the shore the waves advance, recede

As we walk along the shore our muse we feed,
With tales about the mysteries of the sea,
That beckon or reject our human needs.

Listen to the waves condemn our greed,
That fills the ancient ocean with debris,
Onto the shore the waves advance, recede
And beckon or reject our human needs.
