A crescent moon wanes / barely lighting ruins and rubble / oblivious of the pain
Indigo Night

A crescent moon wanes,
barely lighting ruins and rubble,
oblivious of the pain,
the chaos, the troubles of orphans
that huddle under an open sky.

After this blazing day,
twilight settles then fades to indigo,
becoming a somber grey
before the silent night
blankets newly dug graves.

The tears have dried,
the sobs have stilled; but, no matter,
here love abides
while the crescent still gives hope
under an indigo sky.
