A gastronomic poem for the Writer's Cramp.
28 lines

With makeup on my face, I wear
the costume of a clown.
But when my crazy day is done
I like to settle down.

While relaxing in my home
I do whatever I please,
like sipping on a glass of wine
and savoring fine cheese.

It might seem odd that a guy like me
would be a gastronome.
And I suppose I'm pretty normal,
especially at home.

I have my quirky preferences,
as well as standard stuff.
Like avocado toast and brie,
or a three-day-old cream puff.

Licorice tea is not for me.
I prefer something less bitter.
Say pumpkin spice, it's rather nice.
It sets my taste buds atwitter.

Anything made of chocolate
makes my day worth living.
The cocoa bean and a shot of caffeine
make any day Thanksgiving.

With makeup on my face, I look
like a bit of a buffoon.
But hand me a plate of steak tartare
and I'm dining on the moon.
