Landing

Heavy curtains, my view did block
the goings-on of the day outside.
Then, startled by a sudden knock,
I pulled the curtains to the side.
Out the window, I spied a flock
of starlings in their dance of flight.
When all at once, on bell tower clock,
in their mass they did alight.
