Death gets us all. I hope I am prepared.
Am I seeing the end
We all meet?
On that we can depend,
What comes after,
This earthly race?
After I die,
What will I face?
Have I lived a good life?
It is time to consider,
Was I good to my wife?
God knows I drank my fill,
And I was not always good,
That will be in my will,
I knew so few,
I set my store,
In pleasing you,
But was I really good?
I do not know,
That much is understood,
Was it a life lived in vain?
My only victory,
Avoiding pain?
