Sometimes in life, our load is hard to bear And happiness seems to be brief moments among sadness and solitude Like a sinking swimmer, catching a breath when they break the surface of the water Although at times we cannot see it Our lives are full of things to be thankful for We may miss those who have left our life In anger, or in death We may yearn for the warm snuggle of our faithful pet Who never would forget us They comforted us, through sadness and fear Yet, it is not wise to calculate the cost of knowing and loving But, instead be thankful for the time we had together And know that such sweet bonds can endure forever Because love cannot be stilled by silent death But will endure as long as we do For only love can can fulfill the human mind And is the closest thing to heaven we will find So rest your mind, and feel the sensory On the soft pillow of fondest memories Try to grasp the miracle of which we're part And contemplate the simple things Imagine if food was simply nourishment The same taste, the same shape It would keep us alive But how empty would be the process For, we have a million shapes, and flavours Of spice and sweet Picture a world in black and white and grey Where all appears the same For colour serves no purpose Other than joy What depth would be lost to our lives Yet, we see in an explosion of colours Of hues that delight the mind and fire the creative imagination Consider a world without birds that sing Without music Without dance But, our lives resonate with melody With the birds Spring chorus And the singing of rivers gently flowing Trees rustling in the Spring breezes And the majestic sound of human voices Inspiring our souls with a love song Or joining as one in praise and celebration Have you ever gazed at sunsets on fire Or Autumns ablaze with a red spectrum Did you play the game of clouds Where all things can appear As these cotton angels drift overhead Have you laid upon the cool grass And gazed up at the night sky And seen the glorious stars In their endless journey across night Across the rim of our great galaxy Have you counted the numberless blossoms Of spring's dazzling display of flowers The early rose The gentle snowdrops that dance among the meadows of green Do you rejoice with the leaping lambs in the field As they welcome both life and summer? Did you ever plant a seed And peer at it everyday? And did you rejoice and marvel When the tiny green shoot of life appeared Giving you something wonderful to see or to taste? Did you bring to birth a little life Woven from the magic inside yourself and your beloved? Did that tiny life grasp your finger Gaze knowingly at your face As if you had always known each other? We are rich With loves Colours Dreams Be thankful for all these things Be thankful that we are a part of something wonderful And that the journey continues on In sadness In pain In tragedy Find the wonderful Rejoice in the memories Be thankful And know That there is so much more to come “Stop looking for miracles – your whole life is a miracle” - Albert Einstein “Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, neither has there been conceived in the hearts of men, the things our God has prepared for those who love him.” - 1 Corinthains 2.9 (The Bible) |
