Do you have the time?

Conscripted

Bound to an earthly time machine,
conscripted, come what may.
Rushing along with throttle jammed,
twenty-four hours per day.

Looking ahead to what may be,
killing off time til when,
grieving the loss of yesterday,
wishing for might have been.

Anticipation begs regret,
future and past are Tao.
Live in the moment endlessly,
the time is always now.
