Raining Cats, Dogs and Bears? strange rainy night for writer's cramp

Raining Cats, and Dogs and Bears?

39

Sam Adams and his wife
Were drinking glass
Of red wine after dinner.

Looking out at the backyard
On a night it was raining
Cats and dogs.

Suddenly
There was a flash of light
And clash of thunder.

And something
Fell from the sky.

Sam Adam went out to investigate
Thinking that maybe
A tree had fallen in the storm.

What he saw shocked him
There was a black bear
Running around the backyard.

How the black bear had gotten there
He had no idea,
Since they weren't near any parks
Or wilderness areas.

And nobody
Had ever seen black bears
Running around their urban, suburban
neighborhood

Later he heard
There have been an accident
In a plane flying overhead

That had discharged
The black bear dummy
Who happened to land
In Sam’s backyard.

Sam looked up
The number of animal control

The dispatcher said,

“We’ve gotten quite
A few calls already
About black bears
Running amuck.

In the meantime
Best leave the bear alone
Bears can be dangerous.

How's this for strange but true: on March 21st, 1962, the air force tested a plane's emergency systems by ejecting Yogi the Bear from a B-58 flying at supersonic speeds. Seriously.

For tomorrow, write a story or poem about what happens when that bear lands in the protagonist's back yard.
