It was an adventure.
He went on a safari
in deepest Africa,
far, far away from where he lived
in North America.

Well, it was an adventure
he never will forget.
While this was several years ago,
he talks about it yet.

He mentions all the sights there,
the animals, of course.
Oh, once he starts down on that path
he’ll talk until he’s hoarse.

The hippos and the rhinos,
the crocodiles too.
The lions and the elephants.
Yeah, just to name a few.

Giraffes, warthogs and monkeys,
the list goes on and on.
But it will not be long before
too many will be gone.

He says there’s nothing like it
that you will ever find.
There were some things that he is sure
are just one of a kind.

Now you may say you’ve been there
when visiting the zoo.
But he will tell you right out loud
you haven’t got a clue.

He says he must go back there,
no matter what the cost,
before this crazy world explodes,
before it all is lost.

And maybe he will stay there.
That’s what he’d like to do.
The Serengeti’s calling him.
Maybe it’s calling you.
