Cancer patients have one goal, to ring the bell of being cancer-free and success.
From the day I went to the doctor
With that small lump in my breast
I talked with other victims who
Gave medicine hope for the best.
They talked about the bell
They got to ring the bell
So I want to ring that bell.

The surgeon was experienced
His record showed his skills were the very best
The surgery was impressive
And the nurses said that I had to rest
But they talked about the bell
Other patients got to ring the bell
And I want to ring that bell.

I went to chemo religiously
The side effects would show their strength
And time after time I ended up crying
The therapy continued it's length
But I walked past that special bell
I saw a young mother ring that bell
I have to ring that bell.

I looked in my bathroom mirror
My head was hairless and I looked tired
On the mirror was a note from Tom
"Hey Jean, you have us inspired."
I want my family to see me ring that bell
I have dreamed of ringing that bell
I have to ring that bell.

Time passed so very quickly
And the chemo sessions came to an end
The last test snd X-ray were taken
So the doctor could announce sweet or bitter end.
I have to ring that bell
The world must see me ring that bell
I got to RING THAT BELL!
