Honoring a Friend and her caring ways (((Janet)))
Gifted Strength

I can see her there
hugging her knees so close
I can hear her there
sobbing her tears through her clothes
I can feel her here
as I place my hand upon my heart
She was but a forlorn child
knowing desolation from the start
She was a pretty child
as she grew into herself
She was a frightened child
hating everything of the world
Was she ever really a child?
This I cannot say
She has never acted as other children
Never with innocence unbetrayed.
She was never a trusting child
yet forever reaching out for kindness
sometimes it touched her hand
but the good only brought tears and blindness
She is a woman now
and forever in search
Of that poor forgotten child
who hid tears inside her shirt
She has a strength
and it surprises her sometimes
It comes upon her most
when reaching out to others of like kind
She weeps tears of empathy
Gently touching those who cry
She offers her own child's love
and helps the fallen to fly
There is a deep understanding
within this woman's heart
She knows the inner suffering
and forever herself pain is a part
She has a deep inner faith
a spiritual force lifting her up
Upon Angels wings others see
she lifts others to the Chaliced cup
Her heart is simple like a child's
Helping others still lost in the wilds
And she has touched me
I can feel her lifting me up
She is God's gift
And we all thrive embraced by her love.
