I sow the seeds, but the Gardener makes them grow.
On this dreary rainy day
My thoughts drift to
The seed catalog
Having arrived by post
This morning;
Waiting to cheer me.
I have planted the seed
Other springs;
Knowing that once done
The Gardener would
Once more work His miracles.
A seed so precious
In His eyes, He sends rain,
Then warms the earth
With sun until
The roots start to grow,
Beyond my seeing
But He gives me faith
That it will continue
And in time, will grow
Upward toward the sky
Strong stem, brilliant flower;
He smiles;
I smile.
