The poem about a lonely cowboy and his time on the dusty trail.
The lonely cowboy rode along the dusty trail on his great Palomino.
He had a small herd of cattle he was driving down the dusty trail.
He was riding along, singing a song, as it began to get dark.
He bedded the cattle down.
Built a fire and cooked him something to eat.
He got his bedroll and rolled it on the ground.
He was lying there wondering how it would be on the old dusty trail.
He heard of an old coyote howling in the distance.
He heard of a mountain lion that was closeby.
The moon was shining brightly so that he could see.
To keep from scaring the cattle, he walked to a big rock.
He looked up on top of the big rock and there was the mountain lion.
He shot the mountain lion and killed him.
And went back and laid back down on his bedroll for a good night's sleep.
When the sun rose, the next morning, he cooked his breakfast.
He saddled his Palomino and was back on the dusty trail..
He pushed his cattle into a cattle town that was known to buy cattle.
He sold his herd and got himself a home cooked meal.
He rented a room and went to sleep for a while.
Got up and saddled his Palomino riding out of town.
He was once again on the dusty trail.
He found a cattle drive and got a job.
The cattle drive soon ended.
It was late evening again.
The sun was just going down.
The lonely cowboy rode off in the sunset.
That was the last time we seen the lonely cowboy
