the things we hide inside...
When I see you standing there
How I wish I could
Tell you I’d make things all right -
And I really would

I’d also want to tell you
How I fell in love
With that angelic air of yours
Sent from up above

You’re smiling and you’re laughing
Like you haven’t got a care
But I see through that façade of yours
Into those eyes I stare

The windows to the soul that had once
Lit up with glee
Now remain nothing but
A soulless parody

I want so much to hear
All that you’ve got to say
I know how you’ve been hurting
I want to take it all away

But you’d never let me in I know
For those many times I’ve tried
Those nights of silent tears that flow -
I know how much you’ve cried

And all I want to do -
Reach deep into your heart
Delve into that tortured soul of yours
And tear that wall apart

Bring out that little girl
Once so innocent and so kind
Where is she now someone tell me
Why is she so hard to find?
