This poem is about my love for my sons
On a night filled with cornish mysticism
magical trust, tenderness and caring
came two young people in love.

Within me grew hope
the flowering and yielding of life
willingly we accepted the greatest challenge
two humans could possess
that of your life

Whitewashed walls of a Cornish dream
the only witness to your conception
days of fretting and guessing
brought the joy and confirmation into our lives
- never to look back -
you'd fulfilled destiny, my precious Jamie

Years later in a bohemian Amsterdam hotel
(love and promise) of your parents still intact
we created our second precious joy
a fragile little baby boy - Andy-
who'd bring such love into our lives
(the kind of person I'd always wanted to be but never could)

Though fate has changed your parent's course
through mothers eyes each day I look at how you both have changed

My little ones who crawled and walked
both striding down their own paths
travelling the routes that life has chosen
to bestow upon your lives

As your mother I'm so proud of the people that you are

Forgive me for the days I'm here and don't seem to understand
For the days when I am irritable and time doesn't run as planned
Though it may not seem to you - know that you're at the core of everything I do
not because I have to, but because of loving you

In years to come when you are grown and don't need me to show the way
look back at me with kindness, in some small way
Forgive me for the embarrassments, I'm bound to put you through
Don't feel guilty for wanting to disown me, it's a stage that you'll work through

But whatever we in future do
I hope that you'll both know
that I'll never regret a single day
with love, I'll let you go
