A thought on a chilling night
I scream! I yell!
It echoes through the night.

The wind rustles the leaves
Breaking the moment of silence
The chill runs through my body
As the wind is unforgiving

I look to the sky for compassion
With a heart ready for repentance
From the aching soul of a man
Come the howls of the haunted living.

As the moon peers through the trees
And the stars hide behind the leaves
The air moves swiftly across the way
I ponder my journey, Have I finished it today?

Can I see beyond the midnight black?
My thoughts unfocused with the wind on my back
Shall I take the journey of the leaf?
And let go of my branch, in a sigh of relief.

I scream! I yell!
It echoes through the night.
