Forgive the intrusion...
Daffodils, A Pot of Tea

I loiter shamelessly among your darker days,
intrude upon your hours of desperate isolation,
fill, as best I can, the gaps in conversation--
mere alligator hissing, I suppose, from southern bays.

Why do your poignant words compel and capture me?
How much is my own hubris, how much my childlike awe,
to hope among this darkness with you who truly saw
the blossoming of daffodils, the steeping pot of tea?
