Someone in This Room Tonight

Someone in this room tonight
could dance a dance of pure delight
with movement such as could excite
a lover's deepest appetite.

And someone in this room tonight
might soothe a child's midnight fright
with arms so strong and hugs so tight
there'd be no room for fearful night.

Yes, someone in this room tonight
has found a friend to love despite
the rift of many miles, but quite
alike in will and gift to write.

But someone in this room tonight
should own a wrong and make it right
and change a heavy heart contrite
to one of wisdom and insight.

Oh, someone in this room tonight
will shut the door, turn out the light,
and soon must fade from human sight--
someone in this room tonight!
