JUST TAKE A LITTLE BITE!

A lowly little serpent lay
Lanquishing on the branches of the tree;
He'd had his fill of applesauce and pie
And was looking for a better place to be.

"If I could find a sweet young thing,
Who'd take a boarder in her home,
Life would be so much better" he said;
"Some lovely goddess who'd love me, alone!"

Daydreaming still, the serpent didn't see
The lovely goddess walking by;
She walked beside a handsome Godlike man
With a twinkle in his eye!

The goddess spied the serpent in the tree
Then she gave a startled cry;
The Godlike man drew his sword so fast
And the serpent had to die!

"I love my goddess as she is!"
The Godlike man said, as people gathered 'round;
"Any serpent in an apple tree
Will be, by me, brought down!

All the people agreed it would have been good
If the Godlike man had been there, long ago,
When the serpent offered Eve an apple;
And from the Garden had to go!

A serpent is a menace
To all womanhood - That's right!
You have to watch them when they say
"Ah, just take a little bite!"
