Reliving a childhood horror
The room is dark, I'm alone, again, I wish I'd died.
I see the cinematic picture running through my head,
and suddenly I'm thrown into the fiery depths of hell
my childhood horrors magnified.
I try to fight the demons from within.
The young girl laying in bed frozen with fear,
the monster repeatedly stealing her innocence.
The memories flooding over me, my soul is filled with sin.
As the scene plays once again a projection of pain,
I'm unaware of any physical surroundings.
Lost in the reliving of one horrible nightmare, though vividly real.
Trapped within the hell from where the monster came.
As quickly as it started, it goes away again,
but still it feels as if it has lasted for hours.
I'm laying in a pool of sweat shivering,
not just from cold but from fear.
Though I'm relieved it is over for now,
I'm painfully aware it's not the last.
So, I lay, and wait, and wonder, when will it happen again?
