Poem about the games we play with each other.
The only thing standing between them
Was the thing that made them the same.
Both of them could see it all
But both of them played the game.

The courage of the heart within them
And the fear outside that showed
Made them stand still together
As their feelings were bestowed.

The kingdom within us all
As we rule above the rest
Is how these two came together
To try and pass the test.

Their eyes revealed the ruler within
As they stared deep and pure.
Should they both just walk away?
Or should this challenge they endure?

The heart of a leader lie within
But the firmness of a plate to cover
Seems to draw them closer here.
Their flaws, they do want to discover.

They pass by each other now,
Staring and longing for the other
As they try and forget it all
But they know they’ll see each other.

The only thing standing between them
Was the thing that made them the same.
Both of them could see it all
But both of them played the game.
