A seasonal liitle nature poems
WISTERIA

In the Spring
A purple-petaled vine
Dripping with perfume
Cascades
Like a woman with
heavy locks
Embracing
all within her reach

With lanquid tendrils
she entwines
the tall straight limbs
of the Aspen
Whose golden leaves
are her dancing partners
In the Fall.

(Four poems from the Backyard:)

1. over green moss
on red bricks
a cherry tree
drops its petals
like confetti
on an emerald sea.

2. We move in still life
washed with grey
water-colored tints
from a lilac sky
fringed with cream
laden with moisture
the earth holds its breath
waiting.

3. Beneath my window
a small brown bird
its beak filled with twigs
searches
between the stones

He finds something
of value
I stepped on
earlier this morning

4. Michaelangelo clouds
touched, creating
purple light
hushed, expectant
Suddenly drops
silver rain!
