UNBALANCED

I hear the whispers all around,
Voices that invade my space;
I look about and see no one,
There is a voice without a face.

I see the cat's hair bristle,
And I sense the fear inside;
I cower in the darkness
I try my best to hide.

A sense of panic rises
When I open up the door -
Something must be out there;
I go inside once more.

In a fitfull sleep I dream
That I am taken far away
To a cell-like living hell;
I've forgotten how to pray!

They say I am unbalanced,
That I need some help to be
A rational human being;
The voice keeps telling me.

Am I to trust these voices
With no body and no name?
Perhaps it's the devil who
Is driving me insane....
