When you lose the one you truly love...
The noise fills my head and I cannot think.
I gaze around the room, but I do not see.
I stand, wondering, a misunderstanding child.
The moments of my life crash around me like a wave,
But they are insurmountable to this.
The end is close, for my heart chills.
The pounding continues; my pleas go unheard.
I close my eyes as a cold hand dances upon my spine.
Shudders resonate through my body, shaking my mind and soul.
It is deafening, drowning my thoughts.
I cry out, but no one responds.
The sound drowns out my heart; the beat is fainter and fainter still.
I am unable to move, transfixed to this spot, mesmerized and horrified.
I am unable to hear myself over the sound.
I strain to hear my heart as the world falls away-
Then all is silent.
